A windchest can have up to 5 wind channels, each having a maximum of 61 notes and the following properties.
Name: The name of a wind channel is specified in the preferences of KTESIBIOS and is saved for use in all future projects.
Minimum channel width: Minimum width of the channel in mm. The channel width will never be less than this dimension. This parameter can be changed at any time in the design process.
Starting tone: The starting tone of a wind channel can be any of the 61 notes.
Ending tone: The ending tone can be any of the 61 notes higher than the starting tone.
Order on chest: If a chest has multiple wind channels it is possible to determine the order in which they will be arranged on the chest.
6 or 12 pipes per octave
Split C and Cs side or have all on one chest
Windchest frame thickness
The user can choose the desired thickness and save it in the programs settings.
Change chest dimensions at any time
The chest properties can be edited at any time during the chest design.

Autosave
KTESIBIOS saves your work to a backup file at defined intervals. In case of a program or system crash this file can be recovered to restore the status of the project before the crash.
Stagger pipes in 4 layouts
two rows
tree rows
one row to bottom
one row to top
Offset pipes
The user can select any number of pipes to be taken off the grid and set beside the wind chest.
Beards for metal pipes
The user can define beards in 3 different lengths for one stop.
Save / import stops
Often used stops can be save to the hard disc creating a database. These stops can then be imported at any time in the same project or in a new one as needed.
Pipe spacing for mixtures
The spacing for the pipes of a mixture can be chosen in 3 groups which are defined by the diameter of the pipe. Example: all pipes diameter 15 and smaller have spacing 10, all pipes 25 and smaller (down to 11 because 10 is the limit for the previous field) have spacing 15.
Layers and colors for dxf output
The layer and color of each entity of the windchest can be defined to match the rest of the organ design in your CAD system.
Multiple displays of the pipe names possible
KTESIBIOS offer several different display possibilities for the pipe names.
Delete stops
The current stop can be deleted from the chest.
Custom pipe layouts
Release 1.1 and higher offer a fully user defined pipe layout.
Improved mixed stop
The end position of the metal portion can be set at any location within the stops boundaries.
Edit chest data with left mouse button
Clicking the lower portion of the screen displays the dialog for the chest data.
Select stop with left mouse button
Clicking a stop on the screen makes it the current stop
Edit stop data with left mouse button
Clicking the current stop on the screen displays the stop properties dialogue
Stagger pipes with right mouse button
Clicking the right mouse button displays the staggering properties of the current stop.
Pop-up menu with right mouse button
Clicking the right mouse button displays a pop-up menu with some of the most commonly used functions.
Y-coord for stops
This feature displays the y-coord and the max. y-coord of the current or all stops on the screen. This way it is easier to place a new stop on the chest.
Improved dxf-options
Centers
Now it is possible to choose between a cross consisting of two lines or a point as the center for pipes. A point is easier to select in CAD.
Text style
Enter the text style you prefer and use in your CAD drawings. Previously ROMANS was the default and could not be changed by the user.
Text and graphic attributes
Layer and color can now be specified as strings not just numbers as in previous releases.
Customizable toe board, slider and chest holes
By defining toe board codes and assigning diameters and locations for the toe board, slider and chest holes KTESIBIOS is able to automatically add the holes to the dxf file.
